SATURDAY 08 SEPTEMBER
Now in its second year T8T Fest will kick off at 6.00pm on Saturday 8th September here at the GVH. Entry is free, but a donation towards the Australian Melanoma Research Foundation is requested.
T8T Fest is now an annual event that benefits the Australian Melanoma Research Foundation by raising vital research funds for the fight against melanoma - In memory of Nicholas Tait, a local musician who lost his battle just 14 weeks after diagnosis with Melanoma at the age of 34.
Headlining is THE MASON RACK BAND who took out ‘Live Act of the Year’ at the 2018 Gold Coast Music Awards. The Mason Rack Band are festival favourites and are an internationally toured blues-rock powerhouse. The raspy vocals of lead front-man, Mason Rack, have been described by fans as one of the sexiest voices in the blues music scene, with flashes from Tom Waits and Led Zeppelin.
Joining The Mason Rack Band will be last year’s headlining act, BORN OF THE STONE. Founded by former Bowen resident, Jim Martens, Born of the Stone is a fusion of hard rock riffs and soaring pop vocals.
Also joining the line up is popular local musician and crowd pleaser BEN VICO, entertaining with a blend of all music styles. Former local GAV BOURKE will return by popular demand. Gav has been a well-known face on the music scene from Central NSW to North Queensland and also playing at world-renowned festivals.
TARZIE WARZIE will bring her own special brand of real-world folk music to the stage, sharing her acoustic originals and covers of some Australian classics, and Brisbane based solo artist MIZZIE MAX is sure to impress with her edgy performance style.
In addition to accepting donations to benefit the Australian Melanoma Research Foundation, there will also be a sausage sizzle and many raffles on the night to also raise funds for this worthwhile cause.
