BOWEN'S SPORTING HALL OF FAME FUNDRAISING EVENT
BOWEN'S SPORTING SUCCESS!
Bowen’s first Sporting Hall of Fame fundraising event was held here at the GVH and was well supported by the community.
Inducted into the Hall of Fame was Michael McLean for his 5x straight games in State of Origin, Corinne Dibnah for winning the British Open in 1988 and Robbie Crowther who holds the Australian long jump record and won gold in the Beijing Olympics.
The purpose for holding this event was to raise funds to help our local Bowen athletes achieve their goals when competing in Nth Qld/National/International events.
With the likes of Sky Robinson (Cyclist) and Corey Jensen (from the Cowboys) attending the event, the night was a sporting success!
Special thanks to Roger McGrath and his committee for continuing to develop, inspire and support Junior Sport in Bowen.
The Sporting Hall of Fame Fundraiser will be held again next year in Bowen.
